About Us

From the sandy shores of Mombasa to the calm waters of Lake Naivasha, Tony Watamu is a story of grit, resilience, and ambition. Known today as one of Naivasha’s most trusted boat operators, his journey began with almost nothing but determination and a dream.

Raised on the coast in Mombasa, Tiny always felt drawn to the ocean, watching dhows and fishermen carve their living from the sea. But life was not easy—opportunities were few, and the struggle to make ends meet was real. Seeking a better future, he left his home behind and moved inland to Naivasha, a place he had only heard about but where he believed he could build something of his own.

When he arrived, he had no business, no equipment, and no connections—just a relentless work ethic. He started small, helping other boat owners with cleaning and guiding tourists, all while saving every shilling he could. Slowly, he bought his first small boat, which became the foundation of his company. With dedication, honesty, and a deep love for the water, Tony built a reputation among locals and visitors alike.

Today, Tony Watamu Boats is not just a service; it’s an experience. Every trip reflects his journey from the boy who once watched boats from afar to the man who now captains them with pride. His story is a reminder that with persistence, faith, and hard work, anyone can turn humble beginnings into a legacy.
